Update V1.21b


Hi. 

It's been a while, but here's a big-ish update. There are some major & not so major changes in this update. Here are some of the major changes.

Consume Items
Each tower can now consume the items in their inventory, essentially giving the items as a permanent upgrade & freeing up the inventory slots. Consuming the items however is very expensive & goes up exponentially based on the times the tower has consumed items & how much the tower is worth overall (scrapping/selling price).

Item Generator Rework 
The item generator got a MASSIVE rework! Instead of generating 1 item every round, it now generates items after reaching a specific point threshold. Each robot gives a different amount of "points". The small fast ones give 1, the medium ones give 2, the fast medium ones give 4 & the huge tank ones give 32. The threshold at which an item is generated is 250, this means you won't get immediate advantage from the tower, but to make it more usable, the tower's base price has been lowered to 450 S. However the price of the tower goes up exponentially based on how many item generators you own. 

In addition to having a major rework on it's main mechanics, the item generator also gained an extra storage inventory! The tower will prioritize this storage for items it generates, if it fills up the generated items will get thrown out like before. The items that reside in the storage don't give any buffs to the tower, but they can be sold for scrap.

Another change to the item generator is the way items interact with the tower. Before if you gave an item to the item generator, it would just apply a multiplier to how common the item would be when generating a random item. This however doesn't scale well with items that have a low weight value. Now each item you give to the item generator will lower that item's "apparent" quality, so for example, if you give the item generator an Epic quality item, that is now considered a Rare one making it more common, this effect will stack & if you go past common, the item gets an additional multiplier for every time it went past the common quality.

New Items
Some new items that we added include, 'Shrapnel Rounds', 'Ghost Rounds' & 'Extra Rounds!'.

  • Shrapnel Rounds: Makes projectiles explode into 5 smaller variants which are 75% less effective
  • Ghost Rounds: Makes projectiles leave a trail of "ghostly" projectiles that are slower & deal less damage
  • Extra Rounds!: Adds an extra projectile/laser but makes the tower shoot/deal damage less frequently (lasers up to a max of 32 per tower)

Smaller Tweaks
Some smaller tweaks are, level select now has a background, gained/lost scrap is now visualized, laser tower has a few alternate color schemes based on the items it has & quite a few bug fixes.

Build Size
Not as big of a change on the android side, but on the PC build the build size got dramatically smaller by utilizing Unity's sprite atlases & some compression.
